I hate to do this. Everyone is struggling. I haven’t been on here in ages cause I have been working and going to school. I finally got a decent job but my savings have dried up after my partner has been out of work for three months and their daughter has moved in with us. My car’s engine suddenly died out of no where yesterday. I have no way to get to work now and may be fired as a result. Renting a car for a week is almost the cost of my whole paycheck. I am scared we may be homeless in a couple weeks now.
If you can help at all I would be forever grateful. I would happy to draw at least a doodle for your troubles. I know l i n k s are weird on tumblr these days so message me if you can give something.

Do you want your healthcare workers and first responders to be able to get covid vaccines so they don't give you covid when you see them and so they're not themselves sick and needing sick days to recover, leaving healthcare and public services facilities short staffed? I want a fully staffed hospital, fire station, police station, etc.
Do you want public servants like utility workers and agency staff and park rangers to be able to get vaccinated against covid so they're not sick instead of fixing our roads and bridges and sewers and power grid and giving us access to public resources like public benefits and public parks? I want those fully staffed too.
Do you want teachers and childcare workers to be able to get covid vaccines so they don't get such e and need sick days and so they don't get sick from all the kids they see? I want a fully staffed school and fully staffed daycare.
Do you want families with little kids who weren't old enough to get a covid vaccine to access boosters for the older kids and the parents to help keep the little kids safe? I don't want to give my baby cousin covid at his birthday party.
Do you have any immune compromised people in your extended family? Cancer patients? Dialysis patients? Organ transplant recipients? I don't want to kill them.
This is a big fucking problem. Tell the FDA that this will negatively affect you. Public comments, whether under your name or anonymously, must be considered by the FDA. Get your comments in by May 23 at 11:59pm Eastern.

before I (rune) talk about the recall itself, let me back up a bit. if all you want is the recall list, the link is right there, or scroll down.
illnesses were reported as far back as 2023. investigations began in 2024, but the source could not be tracked down. FDA and CDC investigations were reopened in april 2025 after routine FDA inspection of fresh & ready foods revealed equipment contaminated with listeria. this delay is one reason why reporting food poisoning is so fucking important, and how going to a doctor helps protect others. cases of illness were linked together, but there was not enough evidence to figure out what sickened patients until now. listeria can be especially tricky to track down, because it can sicken people weeks to months after they eat contaminated food.
alright. back to the recall.
Fresh & Ready Foods is voluntarily recalling some ready-to-eat sandwiches and snack items sold in Arizona, California, Nevada and Washington. This voluntary recall is being initiated due to possible contamination with Listeria monocytogenes.
The voluntarily recalled products were distributed between 04/18/2025 and 04/28/2025 in vending and breakroom areas within corporate offices, medical buildings and healthcare facilities located in Arizona, California, Nevada and Washington. This voluntary recall is specifically limited to the products with the “Use By” dates from 4/22/2025 to 05/19/2025 as detailed below.
some emphasis mine. "ready-to-eat" means foods that do not require cooking before eating, which is why they often cause food poisoning.
this company has been sickening people at least as far back as 2023, but only products within these use by dates are being recalled. the food was sold labeled not just as "fresh & ready" but also as "city point market fresh food to go" and "fresh take crave away".
important: the FDA investigation notes that products may have been distributed and sold in other states. those four states are only where these products were confirmed to have been sold so far.
Listeria monocytogenes is an organism that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Although healthy individuals may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea, a Listeria monocytogenes infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women.
listeriosis, which is illness caused by listeria, can be fatal.
Call a healthcare provider right away if you have these symptoms after eating the recalled foods.
Pregnant women: Fever, muscle aches, and tiredness. Your illness may be mild, but Listeria can cause pregnancy loss or premature birth. It can also cause serious illness or death in newborns.
Other people may have: Headache, stiff neck, confusion, loss of balance, and convulsions, in addition to fever, muscle aches, and tiredness.

Symptoms usually start within 2 weeks after eating food contaminated with Listeria but may start as early as the same day or as late as 10 weeks after.

while no illnesses have been reported in the specific date range of food being recalled, 10 illnesses have currently been linked to this outbreak, and all 10 patients were hospitalized. the true number of people sickened by this outbreak is likely higher and potentially involves other states. the investigations are ongoing.
both the FDA and CDC recommend you throw out the recalled food and clean any surfaces the recalled food may have touched, including refrigerators. listeria can survive and grow in refrigerators.

There is no "chances are." The original Comstock Act was used to deliberately and specifically do that. Like, as a primary goal.
Their intention has very little to do with "porn", actually.
It is about silencing things most people wouldn't consider porn by labeling them corrupting to morality and therefore pornographic.
